Reminiscing about something, means recollecting the past, through memories and documentation; a remembrance of what once happened and what once was.
What once was, could’ve have ended in recent times or thousands of years ago.

Our recollection of the past reveals itself in different ways, we materialise all these images in a variety of mediums -traditional and unconventional but non-digital mediums -such as graphite on paper, oils, clay, acrylics, metals, plastics, natural resins or epoxy based resins and solvents.

Remiscence has also another meaning: a repetition or imitation considered as unconscious.
By bringing back the past regardless of it being a music subculture that thrived half a century ago or the materials that run underground, inside the earth beneath us for millions of years both are still being reinvented and relished by us humans. Underground subcultures and underground rivers of mineral resources constantly rise and fall in different eras of our society, their use and their reshape reflect the necessity of the time (whether it is artistic, practical or out of survival).

The exhibition Reminiscencias was underground, in the cellar of a local gallery space and was a collaboration between fellow art student Mariana Segovia Rey (13.04.2024 – 20.04.2024).
